- ½ kg white pumpkin
- 4 cups water
- 1 cup lime water
- ½ kg sugar
- 2 tablespoon lime juice
- 6-7 cardamoms , powdered
- 1 teaspoon rose water
METHOD
- Wash and peel the pumpkin.
- Discard the seeds and mushy centre.
- Cut the pumpkin into square pieces and soak in water for nearly two hours.
- Wash the pieces once again, pat dry and soak in lime water for three hours.
- Drain and cook the pumpkin in water till it turns transparent.
- Now take the sugar, lime juice and cardamom and mix to get a thin syrup.
- Immerse the pumpkin in this syrup and place it over medium heat for a few minutes.
- Remove from heat and pour a few drops of rose water over the pieces.
- Serve.
